Oldham Sport Active Project
Community 1st Oldham supports the 2014 Oldham Sport Active Project, which is a new initiative led by Oldham Community Leisure (OCL), working alongside Oldham Athletic Community Trust and Oldham College. Community 1st Oldham and Sport England’s Community Sport Activation Fund are providing funding for the project.
The initiative aims to inspire people from deprived areas to get involved in sport and will offer a host of sporting activities in leisure centres, youth zones, parks and community centres across the Oldham borough.
The project will build on the success of OCL’s previous project, Energize, which Community 1st Oldham also supported, and hopes to encourage people to get involved in sport and increase participation in different sporting activities in all age groups from 14 upwards, creating sporting habits for life.
