The end of 2014 marked Community 1st Oldham’s ten year anniversary and we are delighted to share some of our achievements from the last decade and remember some of our key highlights, including winning LIFT area of the year, developing one of the largest LIFT primary care centres in the UK and most importantly, changing the lives of Oldham’s local community.
Since 2004, we have seen a number of changes within the primary care landscape, both locally and nationally, and because of our strong partnerships and links with the local community we have been able to quickly and effectively respond to these changes.
While our initial focus was on developing facilities to support improved primary care provision, the move towards greater co-location and integration of health and other public services allowed the LIFT partnership to thrive and develop exciting community facilities.
Now, these facilities are home to a range of services and offer Oldham’s local population the opportunity to benefit from the real investment being made towards a healthier future.
Community 1st Oldham completed its very first project, Moorside Medical Centre, in January 2006 and in the eight years since then, has delivered a further 11 operational developments and numerous minor capital works projects.
