A team of volunteers from Community 1st Oldham will be giving something back to a local community on Friday 24th June by helping Oldham Children’s Society paint and fit out a sensory room for the children and families at their centre in Holts village.
Oldham Children’s Society works hard to try and address some of the issues facing the children and families in this community. They provide an extremely valuable service as well as a life line to many children and current projects include counselling, children’s rights and youth inclusion.
Community 1st Oldham has developed many of the borough’s eye catching new health and community buildings such as the Chadderton Wellbeing Centre and Oldham Integrated Care Centre and will be using their skills in project management and design to turn a currently unused room into a calming and restful sensory room for the centre.
This project is part of the Give and Gain day 2011, the UK’s only national day of employee volunteering run by business charity Business in the Community and is funded by Community 1st Oldham.
